Hydrogen is the first element of morden periodic table as its atomic number is one. It has one electron in its valence shell. So, it can lose one electron or gain another electron to becomes stable. When it loses one electron, its characters resemble with the alkali metals of group IA and when it gains one electron, its characters of elements of group VII A.

This element is present in every part of the universe as it makes up small an d minute things to large and gigantic things like stars. A wonderful Element.
