Nascent hydrogen is produced in the reaction mixture in the presence of oxidizing agent. It is less stronger reducing agent than atomic hydrogen. It cannot be isolated. It cannot reduce oxides, sulphides, of metals like Cu, ag, Hg, into corresponding metals. It is more reactive than molecular hydrogen only.
