The battery life of the HTC Hero lasts longer than some of the other newer smartphone models out there (and if you are a heavy app/game user, you can always purchase an extended bat online for longer usage). If you install the right utility apps and really explore and manage this phone to your personal favor, you will find that this phone is actually excellent and very reliable
