Nevertheless, the IE 800′s use something called an Extra Wide Band (XWB) driver. Sennheiser says that it is just 7mm in size, which is apparently the smallest in its class. And despite its diminutive like ways, it can still achieve a full spectrum of sound; 5 to 46,500 Hz. Color us skeptical since humans can’t hear below 20hz or above 20khz, though that said they can feel it. Comparatively speaking, most earbuds use something called “balanced-armature multi-drivers,” a tech that can’t produce the full spectrum of sound.

In any event, the Sennheiser IE 800 in ear headphones should produce what is hopefully jaw dropping sound quality, minimize any chance of distortion, and isolate a good chunk of ambient noise thanks to their ergonomic design. And if that isn’t enough, Sennheiser has used a scratch resistant ceramic coating along with skin friendly silicone tips.

The Sennhesier IE 800 will go on sale sometime later this fall
