Everton have announced academy coach and former midfielder Kevin Sheedy will undergo surgery this week after being diagnosed with bowel cancer. In 10 years as a player at the club, he scored 97 goals in 369 appearances after joining from Liverpool in 1982.
During his time at Goodison Park, Everton won the Football League twice, FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup.
