The sun is the heaviest, largest and the most important object in the solar system. It consists of 99.9% of the total mass of the solar system. It is a star and radiates a lot of energy thanks to the nuclear fusion reaction going on in its core. The sun mainly consists of hydrogen. A hydrogen atom fuses with other four hydrogen atoms to create the helium atom. This also releases a huge amount of energy which is the reason behind the sustained life on earth.
