An unbeaten century from Stephen Peters helped Northants build a decent first innings total against Leicestershire on day one of their Division Two match. Peters (137 not out) and Niall O'Brien (70) put on a first-wicket stand of 126 before the hosts lost their next three wickets for just 35 runs. Wayne White and Shiv Thakor claimed two wickets each for Leicestershire. But Andrew Hall (59) helped Peters put on a partnership of 139 as the hosts closed on 300-5.
