The film is set in the period of India in British Raj and revolves around the people from a barren village who are to give high taxes imposed by their rulers. They attempt to low the British officers to reduce the taxes because of poor agricultural produce. Instead, a deal is offered. If their village team beats a British team in a game of cricket, their taxes for three years would be cancelled...

Indian movies are very different to western movies, and what makes it unique are the song and dance routines, I thought the music and lyrics were so beautiful. The background music was superb. People also complained that song and dance routines are waste of time I don't think so, I think it's a way celebrating life and people like that.

Well this is a nice movie. I have watched it and really enjoyed too. Really entertaining movie with great music and of course the concept. Well thank you so much for sharing that thread with us in this forum.
