Brendan Cole ran a personal best in qualifying for the 400m hurdles semi-final on Day Seven. Cole finished second in his heat behind Cuban Amaurys Valle with both slowing down at the end with qualification safely secured. Cole certainly believes he is capable of running a good deal quicker. "I would not say it was great - it went well, I felt comfortable," Cole said. "The trick is to get over the first two hurdles, once you get going it is pretty automatic.
