Jackie Joyner-Kersee - track and field

Although she was an impressive basketball player at college, it was in the women’s heptathlon and the women’s long jump that Joyner-Kersee made her name in the 1980s. She won three gold, one silver and two bronze medals over four consecutive Olympic Games, over the two different events. Sports Illustrated for Women magazine voted Joyner-Kersee the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th century.
