Atmospheric pressure Empty Atmospheric pressure

The air that surrounds the earth is called atmosphere. It is extended about 9,600 km above the earth surface. the air has weight. Thus, it exerts pressure on the surface of the earth. The pressure exerted by the atmospheric air is called atmospheric pressure. At the sea level, the air pressure is said to be one atmosphere. This is also termed as standard atmospheric pressure of normal pressure.
