How to motivate employees without increasing their salary Empty How to motivate employees without increasing their salary

It is a common belief that people will be happier at work when given more money, rewards and incentives. While this may be true because one reason why people go to work is to provide for their physical needs, this is not always the case. Additional cash is not always the solution to attracting and keeping key personnel and in most cases, not always the best solution there is. Non monetary motivation coupled with a solid compensation package is the key. Let's look into these non monetary motivators.
-Good working environment.
Employees look forward for work when their working environment is pleasing and comfortable. It means your office is clean, safe and ergonomics wise. One way of motivating employees to be happy at work is by giving them a working condition they deserve.
-Opportunities for growth.
It is good that employees know what is ahead of them and the opportunities available for their growth.
- Coaching and Mentoring.
The only valuable cost for coaching is your time. Taking time to coach your employees is a manifestation that you care for them. With care, you can make them feel good and feel valued.
- Recognition.
When there is a reason to praise someone, don't be selfish and give recognition where it is due. In giving recognition, timing is very important.
- Go out and have fun.
Work hard but party harder. Employees need to feel that you value leisure activities as much as you value performance. Go out with your employees for a gimmick, or host a party and invite them over.
There is more to employee motivations than just mere money.
