Morality Matters - Teach values to your child

Morally void is one of the frequently-used phrases to describe today's generation. Values like respect, courtesy, consideration, decency, propriety, honesty and righteousness seem to be slowly fading away. Moral values and self-dicipline, which are the standards of good and bad governing an individual's behavior and choices in life, are on the verge of disappearing. And, as a parent, raising a child in today's violent, morally permissive, "anything goes" world is the most trying, difficult thing to do, but since you are the one whose toil today will produce a productive, moral and emotionally mature adult, you must swim against the powerful currents of this world's trends, pulls and overwhelming pressures.
Below are some helpful tips to help you install values in your children :
1. Kids love to hear stories about their parent's childhood. so teach them through your own life stories.
2. They are very adept at seeing the match between what you say and what you do. Don't give them confusing signals.
3. Expose then to your religion, faith, or spirituality.
4. Pay attention to who else might to teaching values to your kids
5. Ask your kids questions that will stimulate dialogue about values
6. Talk to the about values in a relaxed and easy way
7. Limit their exposure to TV and video games
8. Involve your kids in helping others
9. Have frequent conversations about values in your household
10. Appreciate and encourage morally-correct actions
